This application provides a simple touch interface for neuroscience and psychology research. It was developed through a collaboration between Dr. Coralie de Hemptinne, Dr. Rich Stoner, and Dr. Phillip Starr for a research project studying the effect of deep brain stimulation on cortical local field potentials recorded intraoperatively in patients with movement disorders undergoing deep brain stimulation implantation surgery.
While undergoing a surgical procedure to implant a deep brain stimulator, subjects are presented with the iPad device. Visual cues are then displayed on the screen. Each trial consists of a brief rest period, fixation period, and then a series of tap targets that they must hit before proceeding to the next cue. Experimental settings can be configured based on subject input and capabilities. Once complete, timing data can be reviewed on-device or transferred to a desktop PC for further analysis (a matlab importer is provided).
Not intended for diagnostic use.
